Emily Blincoe
Personal Background
Emily Blincoe was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Blincoe is 42 years of age. When she was 22 her brother got her interested in photography and she got her self a camera. I started as a hobby and had no idea it would turn into a obsession. She took the risk and left her job and in 2013 signed with a agency. She has been doing photgraphy ever since and loves it every day.
Style
Blincoe likes to take pictures of people and her dog. She brings her dog everywhere and loves taking pictures as she travels with her. She is most famous for her arrangements. For example Putting 50 different types of leaves on a simple color background all in symmetry together. She takes everyday objects and turns it into these beautiful arrangements, which helps the viewer connect
Philosophy
Blincoe Is inspired by life, and how it is always changing. She says a big part of photography for her is color, the color of nature food and fabrics. She takes photos of the little moments, light and finding beauty in the ordinary. I think she shows that finding beauty in the ordinary because it shows up so much in her work. Her dog is also a important part for her, she is her travel buddy and her "model".
Influences
I was inspired by Blincoe because I liked the idea of finding the beauty in the ordinary. I was looking over other photographers and they all had such complicated things, But for Blincoe had simple things. She took photos of everyday stuff, and it really inspired me. I can take photos just like her, I really connected to her work. I am a dog person and love that her dog is in a lot of her photos
Compare and Contrast
This photo was hard to recreate because my dog would not look up. I kept calling her name and she was distracted by something else. I had my mom hold a treat above me and call her name and finally after a couple shots I got it. But then I realized I was using my other hand. So I switched hands and had to do that whole process like before. Then I edited and got the perfect results
This picture was fairly easy to recreate, I didn't have all the same colors but i think it looks pretty good. Until the end part I had to lick one down to be tiny, but i kept forgetting to not bite it, so i ate like 2 lollipops before actually getting the size I needed. I also Couldn't find anything like that background so I thought white would do the trick. I edited the photo making the lollipops really shine and make the back round whiter.
This one was also somewhat easy. I didn't have a good background again and used paper for it. I sorted the sizes of Fries and then put them in the line. I was a little disappointed the ketchup didn't look like the one I was recreating. I really liked this though I like the organization of it and think a lot of her stuff was really sick in these arrangements. I edited it to have less shadow and make the fries pop.
